Smile New 17cc

I am selling my house and torn between a 17 triumph and 17 key west. The dealer in Ft. Pierce is offering a 2005 with a 75hpETEC for $14,999. Is this a good deal? He said he would throw in a bimini at 1/2 price. I do have the luxury of waiting for the Miami boat show as I am in no real hurry. Should I wait or is that probably the bottom line price?

sounds good

Go for the Triumph!!!!! You will be happy you did. It sounds like a good deal you are getting. I got mine the end of summer and it is a 17cc with 75hp 4 stroke. I also got a bimini top with it and a console cover and all safety equiment for a grand total of $15,500.00.

Smile 17 w/ E-TEC

I looked at this same boat in the Vero Beach boat show, this was an 2006 model as the dealer told me all 2005 inventory has been sold. He offered the same deal to me as I was shopping price and found this to be a GREAT DEAL. I'm going to set up a sea trial for next week to see if the boat is as great as it seems. Everywhere else I called they quoted at least 3000 more so I say GO FOR IT.

See if he'll throw in a swim platform. I've got one on my 17CC and you can't beat it for safety! Plus the wife couldn't live without it.

new 170cc

I had the same talk about the 2006 boat at the show. Some where around 14,500-1500 depending on the yamaha or the evinrude. Please post a note about your test ride. I'm very curious about this boat. I hear the Key West boat is of a lower quality(Top Notch Marine?) but don't have confirmation from any owners.

Talking New 170

I also checked on the Key West and the Key Largo, but found smaller caps and no STORAGE! Also while talking to Stan at T.N.Marine about his boat and the differences between Triumph , he started to bad mouth the boats because they are plastic.I went back to Modern Marine and spoke with Mike and he told me it is all for the better, they don't have a durable hull like the Triumph hull and he stated he would give names of other HAPPY customers with Triumph boats. I'm SOLD on Triumph and can't wait for the sea trial.

When is your sea trial? I plan on going down dec.3 in the a.m. Just talked to a guy in Palm bay who has a 2005 left over, waitng on a call. Had a 50 yamaha,I asked to upgrade to a 60 yamaha 4 stroke since he is a yamaha dealer and to caLL me with the price. As far as the previous post to key west being lower quality, they are not.J.D. Power ranked them 3rd behind Whaler and grady white. Does anyone out there ski and tow people behind a yamaha 60? How does it perform doing that?

I don't ski but check out the past threads of this forum for there are discussions on your topic.

For hole shot and pulling people they recommended higher HP motors. I would suggest that you look at a two stroke such as an e-tech or yamaha. Most of the four strokes add 100 lbs to the hull and the extra weight will slow you down and reduce you MPG somewhat.

Just my two cents, no matter what you decide, you would wind up with a great boat. Bob
