Swapping Leaning Post for Seat in 170CC

Hi, Dick. I'm thinking about replacing the seat in my 170CC with a leaning post. A fellow named ArmyChap in the 170 forum tipped me off that the 190 is available with a leaning post. Said his dealer swapped the seat in his 170 for a leaning post from a 190. Do you know who makes the 190 leaning post for Triumph, so I could look into buying one for my 170?

Thanks.

Blacter, The leaning post is a Triumph propriatary design so you won't be able to purchase it from anyone but a Triumph Dealer. However, there are many aftermarket units out there. The footprint is 35" wide, just make sure you don't put a screw into the gas tank that runs under the floor.

One more question, Dick. How do you think the Triumph model compares with this one from Cabellas? http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/te...319&hasJS=true

Hard to tell from the photos, but the Triumph model seems sturdier. On the other hand, I like the under-seat storage in the Neptune II. What's the purpose of the backrest? Could you reach the throttle and steering wheel if you sat up there?

Thanks again.
