Battery Mount in 170CC
The battery on my 170CC just sits in the starboard compartment at the rear of the boat. There's a strap that kind of holds it in place, but it isn't secure by any means. I imagine some dealers and certainly some of you have rigged up a better mounting solution. Would appreciate hearing what you've done.

I'd be interested in having a separate battery for starting and one for accessories. I run a depth finder, stereo and am about to add a VHF. A separate starting battery would allow me to run those options with abandon with out having to be concerned about if there is enough power to restart the engine.

O.K. I understand. I have only a fishfinder hooked up to mine and it doesn't require that much power.

I have two 12 volt deep cycle batteries under my center console for my trolling motor. If my main battery dies, I can use one of them. I know they are not designed for starting but they will get the job done in a pinch.
