Bottom scratches

well first day out in my new 170 cc . I am new to salt water fishing this is only my 3rd time . I went Fishing in the gulf out of Ft.Island Beach in Crystal River Fl. Floated across some oyster bars and scratched the bottom up some. I new it would happen sooner or latter but not the first time out. Is this easy or nescessary to fix? I know they are not going to hurt anything , its just the idea I know that they are there.

Dennis

Sorry to hear of that, If you e-mail Dick at Merritt Marine he's the guru on that kinda stuff, but maybe an easy fix with his guidance, Did you get a depth finder yet? They have them with a too shallow alarm to help prevent a re-occurence.....Dan

See my thread about welding plastic in the tech talk forum. It's easy and inexpensive - your biggest problem will be reaching the scratches from under your trailer.

Good luck,

Forget about them...chalk them up to battle scars. You knew it would happen eventually so now you don't have to worry about it anymore. No one will know they are there unless you tell them (and when you do don't brag too much about how a fiberglass boat would need a gel coat job, etc). Enjoy your new "broken in" boat.
