second battery

i just installed a battery case ,and a 29 series deep cycle . in my console on my 170 cc. upon further reading it says to make sure you put battery box in a well ventilated area. now my concern is the center console ventilated enough?. what problems could arise . i know i smelll fuel vapors a little when i open it up but not real strong. i have a hole in the top of the console about 1 inch in diameter for my sonar wires . would this be enuough? any suggestions would help.

I have two deep cycle batteries in my Center Console. When I'm not fishing I just open the door to the console to let everything air out. (I also open the fish boxes and rear compartments) When I'm ready to put the boat in the water, I close it all up and go. Your battery should have no problems where you have it. Enjoy!
