inner hull drains

dick , have heard alot of talk on here about these . where are they located on a 2005 170 cc? thanks

Im with you kickin'bass, I have seen several threads about inner hull drains. And its got me going. I have a 2005 170 cc. Where exactly is this drain

As you all know, Triumph hull's are made in one piece; it's their most important patent. This means, that between the inside of the boat [and bilge] and the outer hull, there is an area that incorporates the stringer system; this gives the hull strength. That area is referred to as the inner hull. It does get water in it; it's not suppose to, but it does. On the 15/17' boats a drain plug is installed in the bilge area, on the side of the center stringer, just under the fuel tank.

Thanks for the info. I found the drain on mine its on the right side of the center stringer. [as you are looking from the transome forward] I could hardly fit my hand in the inspection plate. However I dont see how it helps in draining the innner hull because the drain itself is approximately half way up the side of the stringer and the cavity seems to be completely foam filled other than the small area around the drain plug.
