I have repeatedly said my 17CC can take more water than I can. I have been drifting in 3-4 rollers without taking on anything. Its slow going on the way back in, but the cork analogy is appropriate.

I fish the mouth of an inlet here in southeastern NC for flounder, trout, and drum. It can get awful choppy with waves slapping the boat from all directions. I can barely hang on and fish sometimes. Not once have I had any serious water come into my 170CC. I usually give it up and just chuckle at how much that little plastic boat will take. If it was two feet wider where I could hang on a little better, I think I could stand it as long as the boat can; but I doubt it.
