Trolling motor for 170CC
Hi Group:
I am a new boater and owner of a 2007 170cc. I have a 6 year old who loves fishing so I decided to buy a boat. I'd like to do some lake fishing but unfortunately where I live in NJ there are few lakes by where I live that allow my Yamaha 75. I was told by the dealer that I could get an electric trolling motor but it wouldn't work on my boat because of the bow rail. Does any one know if a trolling motot can be mounted on the stern? Happy boating to all! |

http://www.boatersworld.com/product/365550854.htm Check around and I'm sure you'll finds several other options. There are also trolling motors that mount directly onto your big engine that you use your steering wheel to control. Here's a link to cabelas with several options: http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/te...ainCatcat21276 So, as you can see, you have lots to choose from. You just have to decide which option is best for you and your situation. Let us know what you come up with. I hope this helped.

Hi Chuck:
Thanks for the advice... The only reason that my wife let me buy the boat was because it had the bow rail:^) I like the idea of the motor that mounts directly on the Yamah 75. Does this motor come off when you don't need it? Seems to me like it would impeed the ride of the 75 under normal use. I'll let you know how I make out. I'm hopeing to get the boat in the water for the first time this Thursday. Cheers! |
