Bimini question

Hello,

I have an issue I would like to present to everyone about my bimini top. I have a basic carver top that lies down in the back, but when I do this it covers the 2 built in rod holders in the back on the gunnels. Now I can shift the top (to the left or right) and get to the one holder but what I really want is complete access to both rod holders.

I have explored using the slides and or moving the whole top forward but the rod holders are far up the gunnels and that would make the bimini too far forward.

I don’t want to lie the top forward across the bow.

Has anyone had this issue or can you think of a solution to expose the rod holders better than what I currently have?

Sincerely,
Jim

H2HO'

Other than the modification I made to my 190 and here again, that was a custom built top made to fit "inside" the gunnels... My only recommendation is to either get sliding mounts, or to just move it to another fixed mounting location. I still feel the slides would be your most cost effective fix and you can see how they worked for me by cruising though the 190 mods picture folder

Bimini Fix

I had the same problem. I bought a couple of the for lack of a better description, "rear braces". It keeps the bimini propped up all the time and you only hace to use the front straps to secure the bimini. Try cabellas. About $40.

Thanks for the suggestions. Saturday, I am headed back to the dealer to get a slightly narrower bimini. He was nice enough to work a trade for the one he sold me. I am hoping that this will get the bimini to lie somewhat inside the gunnels and open up the rod holders.

That should help but if not, the mounts and allow the top to slide forward and aft http://www.triumphowners.net/photos/...to/532/cat/506 are a great addition and come in handy if you want to move the top to put more shade either in the bow or stern sections quickly

Thanks boatfever

Found the Bimini brackets at Cabella's and ordered them and look forward to getting them installed before the season starts. Been trying to figure out how to get it out of the way.
