by using the search you will find some answers. in fact here is what I posted some time ago.
I have never used the primer. this is what I use. At any hardware store. You can by #'s. I buy the ones that come with the reflective back ground. It has the same glue as the DMV year sticker. They stay on very nice. In the 4 years of my boat. I have only lost 2 #'s. Thats useing pressure washers and hand washing. __________________ Can't soar in the morning with the Eagles; if you Hoot all night with the Owles.

just to be a smart A** I used the primer and have not lost any numbers. However the exp stickers I got from the BMV have fallen off. At least the outer part of the sticker....
