Leaning Post on 17CC

I do like the flip flop seat on the 17CC, but found the frame on the one I saw a little flimsy. Anyone know if you can get a leaning post as an option?

Check the picture section for one of the guys mounted up a factory 190 leaning post that looks (though a little tall to me) pretty cool

feejer, I have a 2006 17cc with the flip seat. I'm a slim 280lbs and have no problems leaning on it when it is foward. I've been in some pretty rough water with it and has held up great.

Elroy,
What kind of room do you have between the seat and the wheel. I was on a 2003 last Saturday and my legs were being crushed against the steering wheel.

I'm 6'2" and if I put the seat in the second to last notch foward I have plenty of room and a person can sit and fish on the back of the seat. In the first notch I don't have enough room, but the seat is sturdy. I have had the back in this position and been airborn several times without a problem. Maybe the 2006 is laid out a bit further back?

Leaning Post in a 17CC

Hi Feejer:

I put a leaning post in my 17CC. I could not be happier. Pictures are posted in the 17CC series. It came out of a 190. I saw it at my dealer and was looking for one at the time. It is great, I really like it. If you cannot find the pictures let me know and I will shoot them straight to you. chaplainaustin@hotmail.com.

Blessings,

armychap

New for 06 the flip flop is notched and can serve as a leaning post facing either direction. Its a significant improvement imo, generally found on higher cost boats such as the Scout 185. At the midway stop it provides seating for up to four, two facing forward, two astern. I havent found it to be flimsy so far, after a pretty good workout this last season. Nothings loose or shaky feeling.

Feejer,

Long post on my use of a Todd adjustable heigth as an answer to Fattiresc. No major negatives after four years.
