Looking for a little help
Hello everyone, New here, I own a 2004 170DC with a 50 HP Yamaha motor. We have a summer place around Rehoboth Bay in DE. One day out on the bay, just riding around and taking a few friends for a ride, I lost the back cushion on the starboard side. After we noticed it missing, we when back to the area, but it was gone. Does everyone have or know where I could find one. Also when we took our boat out of the bay (first year we had a slip) there was alot of barnicles all over the bottom. I thought that they wouldn't stick to the roplene. Any help to remove them would be great.

One of the supporters of this website is Merritt Marine in Hillsborough, NC. Dick@merrittmarine hosts our "Tech Talk" forum. They have probably the largest selection of previous year model Triumph parts and supplies as you'll find anywhere. You can check out the "Ship Store" and they have a Parts Request form on their site too. They are my dealer so I can vouch for them. And I designed their website so I can vouch for it too.
Yes barnacles and algae, etc. will definitely stick to the Roplene. It should come off with a power washer, but let it dry thoroughly first then spray it off. If you're going to leave it in the water for extended periods of time you'll need some anti-fouling paint. There is an article on what is involved in applying bottom paint to Roplene here. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the advice. Dick at Merritt Marine is the one who told me about this website. He is a great guy. He only had the cushions for the port side, but he is on the look out for mine. I'm disabled and painting the boat seem difficult. About how much would this cost to have done. Thanks

I left mine in saltwater for up to a week with no accumulation of anything except a little slime/algae which actually seemed to wipe off best with my bare hand. Longer term I cant speak to. A credit card might remove the odd barnacle but I didnt have any (barnacles).

Thanks for the help, We had it in the saltwater for about two months. Someone told me to take in out of the water about every month, let it dry for about one day, and then take it to the hydro-spray. I thinks I'm going to try that next year first, if that works it will save me a hole lot of money. Thanks for the tips.
