In my opinion a T-Top would be too much for a 170. I saw one at the boat dealer, that a doctor owned and it looked top heavy. If you go for it I would look for something smaller than what is normally out there.
Additionally when you walk around the center console, while on the water, the passage is narrow. A T-Top would only make it narrower unless you do something really custom, like attach it to the console so that it does not take up too much path around the console. I believe that some of the older Logics had an optional T-Top but that was with a smaller console and it didn't invade the path around the console. I have a bimini that lies down nicely in the back of the boat, thanks to the help of this forum. I don’t even know its there. Jim |

Scrappler,
I have a 170CC. I have a bimini top that also lays flat out of the way. I only put it on the boat for the hottest months of the year. I love my 170.It's a great fishing platform, and a great boat for pleasure. It's also very narrow and if you have any chop at all you're constantly grabing the handrail on the console when you move to the front or back of the console. Anything that would cause that space to become smaller would be a safety issue to me. I fish year round in Southeast NC, but I'm not real keen on swimming in 45-50 degree water if I fell out. Good luck. John D. |

I went so far as to contact the poster (jmltyler) of the photo in the 170CC photo gallery. He said that he has driven this boat and it came from the dealer this way. He did say that (if I recall correctly) that it did make the 170CC sway a little more at slower speeds and/or anchored due to wave action but that, it did not make it too top heavy. He did say that the only real problem was that it cut into the walkway when trying to go around the CC. To get the answer "straight from the horse's mouth" I would contact him directly.
