Boat ladder

I have the 170 BASS and I want to install some kind of a ladder system. There are times when I want to jump in the lake and need to get back in the boat. I looking for either something I can remove and store or mount. I fish Bass Tournament and need something that does not get in the way. I have looked into the Garelick Bass Boat Transom Ladder and the 2 Step fold down ladder. Any suggestions? Platform types will not work

ladders

There were a couple of ladders on www.cabela.com that you might want to check out. No experience with them personally, but was buying some stuff on there today and noticed they had them.

Don't forget, the transom on the 15' &17' boats is not straight across the back, a aftermarket swim platform should be modified so it doesn't stick out to the side.

I have a 17CC. I used a 1/2" poly rope and some 1 1/2" PVC pipe. Thread the pipe steps onto the rope, tying stratigic notes along the way. Hang it off of a rear cleat. Thats how we get back into the boat when water skiing. Lift it off the cleat and drop under one of the rear seats and its completely out of the way. 3 steps are adequate, 4 might be better.

Ladder

On the rope ladder you made do you have any problems with the rope slipping under the boat as you step on to it?

Some. It does tend to kick under the boat. Still far easier than trying to haul yourself over the side. Seems to be more of a problem with females than males, maybe due to upper body strength. The boat is used primarily for fishing, so the easy stow and low cost are warrant the occasional inconvience.
