Drain plug problem

I purchased the new plugs for the live well and the the hole is striped. Has anyone had this problem and what have you done to fix it?

THanks

Diazrid,
I have a 2004 170CC.I use my livewell often, but I don't remember any plugs for it that need threads. Mine has a tube that pushes down in the bottom of the tank so it will fill. Are you possibly speaking of the forward fish boxes up front that has a plug in the bottom of each one? Be a little more specific and maybe some one can help. Mine may be different from yours. Good Luck.

As far a I know the only plugs that require threads are the two bilge drain plugs that go in the back of the boat. The bait well has a rubber plug for use as a dry storage area as well as a tube that fits in the hole when you want to fill it. They both just push into the hole. The front storage areas (fish boxes) have standard rubber/brass plugs that you flip the handle down to secure in the drain hole. Do you have a picture of the area you are talking about? Also, what year is your boat?
