I fish a 150CC and (In good weather) take it salmon fishing to 12 miles off the coast.

Have a 170 that I have fished 21 miles out off of Pensacola with no problems. Of course with any small boat you really need to pick your days. And I mean you really need to pick your days!

I bought the 170 DC about 4 month ago. Like you I was concerned about single handling and found the 170 to be very easy. Have gone out up to seven miles into the ocean in south Florida (in calm weather, the boat can handle more than my stomach). I do wish a bigger boat sometimes (because of space), but the reality is that my older Ford Explorer would not be able to tow much more and the boat needed to fit into my garage. The 170 is easy to handle in the water, easy on towing, easy pushing around in the garage...
