How far out?
Hey guys,
I'm looking at getting into boating, and have pretty much narrowed it down to the Triumph line. Love the fact that there is not much time spent on cleaning ! My question is the size if the boat I'm looking for. I like the 17 because when I'm by myself, it will be easy to handle...loading unloading etc. I will be fishing on occasion with one or two others. My other option is the 190 bay for a little more comfort. I will be fishing saltwater...usually in the back bays, but sometimes out front and maybe a mile or two off the coast. Can the 17 do this comfortably? Getting in and out of the inlet could be rough at times. Thanks for the replies. |

Shiek Yerbouti, I launch my boat most of the time by myself. I have the logic 186 which is the same as the 190. I would recommend the 190 as you can put more 'stuff' in it, people and be safer.

I have a 191 and fish the ocean. I have gone out for twenty mile trips with no problem, and have been 10 to 15 miles from shore. I launch alone most of the time and have no problem. The biger the boat the better and more room for a few people. Good luck and welcome to the site.

Don't forget the 195. I almost went with it over the 215. Sweet boat for fishing I think and for family time on the lake.

If it helps any I have launched my 215 by myself several times with no problem. I imagine the 19 or 17 foot series would be easier, but the Eazy Loader trailers make it pretty simple.

my 17
I usually fish alone or with one or two others also. I regularly have mine over 5 miles off-shore on reasonably calm days with no problems. The inlet (Beaufort NC) can be the limiting factor depending upon tide, wind and boat traffic.

I had a 190 until last year and it is no problem to load or launch by youself. The 215 I have now is also easy to load and launch by yourself. I think you will like the extra space the 190 gives you compared to the 170.
