Fishing Seat Pedestal Height
Picked up my new (to me) 2003 170DC, and hope to get it in the water this week. Tried last Friday, but a low battery, followed by a blown fuse (thanks to a great guy who offered me a jump) left me pretty disappointed. In any case, I've recahrged the battery, and am ready to go.
I'd like to ask for input on the pedestal height for a front fishing seat. My boat has what I'm assuming is a factory mount. The top of the mount is even with the front platform. I've got a foot controlled trolling motor, and would want to use it while perched on the fishing set. This is the first boat I've owned with anything other than a bench seat, so I'd like to hear what others find "right". Thanks, Ron |

Ron,
Welcome aboard. I have a 170CC. I hope you enjoy your DC as much as I do. I think if you'll check some of the marine supply stores, (Boaters World) etc. you'll find that most pedestal seats are a standard height or you can get one thats adjustable within a certain range. Look on the home page here and contact Merrette Marine. I think you can order an original seat from them. Good Luck. John D. |
