Hi Crimar30, I got myself a handheld VHF radio that I keep in my "boat bag" (with charts and books). It came with a base that would fit nicely on the passenger console but haven't installed it.
By the way, the handrails arrived last week and are already installed. Thanks again for the info. Now I have a good place for cup and rod holders... and something to hang on when it gets rough!!!!

Hi DK,
Did you install the grab rails yourself? I thought they were a good idea, and functional.too.What kind of radio did you get? I installed the paddle below the light pole last week. I installed my GPS/FISHFINDER on the console above the steering wheel but didn't " hard wire" it, so I could remove it easier.
The next project will be rod storage and a place for the net.
I installed Scotty rod holders on the side rails and the rails for the back seats.
Thanks again for your input, and let me know what else you come up with,

Thanks,

Mark

I got the Uniden Atlantis 250.In addition to the base it has rechargeable batteries that I haven't had to recharge in several month (I don't use the radio a lot, just an occasional weather report...).
Installed the rails myself, the dealer in NC sent me a template so it was not difficult at all. As a matter of fact I had the boat on the driveway ready for a fishing trip when the package arrived: installed one while waiting for some friends.
Please post some pictures when you have a minute: eager to see your GPS and rod holders!
Regards,
DK
