170 DC Modifications

I am wanting to start a new thread for those of that have 170DC. I would like everybody who can to take time and take some pictures of the modifications that they have done(ie; rod holders, hand rails, gps/fishfinder, vhf radio's) and explain what they are. This boat is uniquely versatile. I am a freshwater guy and have mine rigged for bass fishing but can convert to a pleasure boat in about 2 hrs. I am sure you salt water guys have a completely different set up.

Let's see how versatile it is.

What have you done to your's that you can change in two hours? What year is yours? I'll take a few pictures of mine over the weekend and post them.

I have a few pictures of my 170DC under member galleries (dkaraluz). Most of my changes have been to the trailer, a few to the boat. My boat did not have any power outlets so I installed two with the corresponding fuses and a dedicated line from the battery, that was some work!. Just added the handrails and will post some updated pictures.

My conversion to pleasure/fishing boat is (so far) limited to installing/removing the bow and stern cushions, and selecting the proper anchor for the trip.

CRIMAR 30:

Am really impressed with the installation of grab rails on your 170DC. I just bought the same boat, and the rails on yours look great. Where can the rails be bought? They look like the rails shown on the 120CC. Am I correct in this?

Hi JVES, you are right, they are the ones of the 120CC. I bought mine from Merritt Marine in NC and had them shipped to FL. They are GREAT!

Thanks for the info. They do look great. Do you remember what you paid for the grab rails?
