Prop for trolling a 170CC
A new owner of a new 170CC. Are there any recommendations for a prop size for slow trolling that boat with a Yamaha 70 HP?
Thanks for your help |

I have a 17CC with a 70 Yamaha 2S. Running the dealer installed 13x19 prop. It seems a bit fast, but I cannot give you a good speedo reading as my speedo seems to not register much below 7 mph. Got the GPS at Christmas, so I will be able to figure it out once the water softens a bit.

The other thing I did this past weekend was get the boat in the water. Ran it with the GPS. Just putting it in gear (~7,000 rpm) gets me 3 mph with a 13x19 on a Yamaha 2S 70.
