This post has not had a specific QC issue since somewhere on page 2. It should be retitled "Pros and Cons of Triumph ownership". If I were a Triumph QC manager, I would have already quit following this thread since it has switched to design commentary.

Good comments for the most part, but not what I think was intended in a QC discussion.

I agree STL170 so I renamed the thread as you suggested "Pros and Cons of Triumph Ownership".

I started a thread on Quality Control issues in order for Triumph to see areas that owners felt needed more attention. I hope the focus of that thread will continue to be suggestions for QC attention. The more succinct and to the point that we can be in pointing out areas that need work, the better response I think we'll have from Triumph Boats and their dealers in addressing them.

Triumph Quality Control suggestions

Let's see, you've got 4 pages of responses to this thread and just because one person says he thinks it has strayed off topic, you change the name to something entirely different than what the original post was? That is just wrong.

The only thing I changed was the title of the thread. The whole thread is about pros and cons of owning a Triumph Boat and the new title better reflects that for anyone searching thru the threads. I didn't delete any one's comments.

To clarify the posting and moderation policies of this website I have created a "Code of Conduct" page located here. If you have a problem with any of my moderation or organizational decisions on this site, you are welcome to leave.

I do tend agree with woodnfish that this site tends to put on the skirt and cheer for triumph way too much. I like my boat a lot, but it does need some major improvements.

I have a 07' 215cc and it fishes over 40 days a year. I spend between 60-70 days ont he water a year between a few other boats also.

1) The front storage hold does not drain properly, and no it's not due being improperly loaded in the forward hold, but thanks.

2. Add a second bilge pump, or atleast make this an option.

3. make the floor access big enough to service pumps.

4. In the solid area where plug is make it possible for a thru hull transducer to be mounted. I really don't care what anyone says, all the transom mounts suck and don't perform well.

5. Option for a larger fuel tank? Is it possible?

If this boat is tuff, then why is resale so crappy on it. Don't get me wrong, I like my boat and could go on and on with a lot things to really make this a better boat. But I don't think the pep squad here really wants to hear it nor does triumph, but that's just a hunch. I imagine if they do, they will contact me. I bought my to fish tournaments, and it has worked out pretty well so far, but nothing compared to what it could be, and believe my boat is decked out real well. Either way, I guess I am going to get scolded now, but that's my opinion.

I'm not sure why you would say that Triumph resale is "crappy". That sure won't help you sell yours when you're ready to. I don't have enough facts about the sale of used Triumphs or any other brand to make a statement like that. I do know that I sold my first Triumph 210 in a matter of a few weeks and almost got what I was asking for it and only a couple thousand less than my purchase price. I was pleased with the sale and felt the buyer got a good deal too with all the stuff I had added to the boat.

I don't know where the 'cheerleader' and 'pep squad' stuff comes from. Why would we not want to support a company in which we've all invested thousands of dollars in their products? But there is a lot of information on this website about things that Triumph needs to address and suggestions of things to improve on. I just plain disagree with the philosophy of some that think they accomplish change by being a squeaky wheel and hounding a manufacturer into submission. If the manufacturer is like me they will turn a deaf ear to that stuff. What I can't stand are whiners, complainers and "trollers" (look it up in the "Our Code" link). And thankfully I don't have to accommodate them here. I believe more is accomplished through a positive partnership, working together and with shared, mutual respect. And that is what I ask for on this site, mutual respect, for owners, dealers and Triumph Boats.

tylerderdan, excellent suggestions. I especially like the idea of a plug for a thruhole transducer. I have not had a problem with my transducer as I mounted it, but I know others have, and a thruhull would solve that problem.

I've also had concerns about the resale value of my boat. New England has been through at least 3 dealerships and all of them have dropped Triumph. Two in New Hampshire, and one in Massachusetts. There is something wrong with that and I don't know what it is, but it is a problem.

As I understand it boat sales nationwide were down 7-15% last year while Triumph sales were up. I've heard that Triumph this year has added ten new dealers in the US, six new dealers in Australia, one in Panama and will be shipping to Europe by the end of the year. The company has gotten a lot new exposure the past year from the "Bubba Test" commercial and seems to be doing very well.

I cannot abide by the editing going on with my posts to this site. My posts have not been obscene, insulting, or anything wlse, yet the content is being edited. This is not an impartial website. If you aren't a cheerleader for Triumph your posts are questioned and edited. I'm done here.
