I am not a cheerleader, but here is my best rah-rah-rah for the pessimists: I was considering Triumph. Found this site. Read some of the negatives and was prepared. Read mostly the positives and now I am a happy Triumph owner. I had some QC issues and posted them in an effort to inform the builders knowing that they read these pages. I did not mean to sound like a complainer...but if some took it that way it is not my problem.

My first Jersey shore striper season is coming up and I am so freakin anxious to get out there in chop and wet and catch feeder fish in my cast net and go out for the schools. I know my Triumph was the perfect boat for me.

Thank you NCangler.

I would say it's all in the interpretation. I do like my triumph, but there are some major things that need help on the rig. I have dumped more money into electronics and other gear on my boat that a lot of others have in their entire rig. I spend a lot of time on the water on my boat and on others, so when I am making an observation of something it is not coming from a guess or off the top of my head. This certainly is not the first internet site I have been a part of either. When I do make statement as to this being a cheerleader site, I do believe it is. I don't think it's a bad thing. This site is made up of enthusiasts that all share a common interest.

The only thing I do consider to be quite odd is that when I am an owner, a supporter of the site, a contributer, makes a statement that is a little off base from what the general concensus seems to be he or she is labeled and scolded. Mind you, I don't believe this forum should be a free for all. I do feel everyone does have their own style and shouldn't be made an example of every time they decide to express in the proper way.

I am a fan of the site and believe it has a lot of good information and good people also. I have observed on other dedicated sites that people can become influenced easily towards a certain thinking when that is all they are exposed to. Sometimes a little perspective on things is not always a bad thing. Either way, it has not been my intent to insult or persuade anyone to do anything but maybe see things from both sides of the street. I will try to be a little less caustic if I have differing opinion next time. Perhaps it will sit better with the powers that be, and yes the last line was a joke.

hi all-- potential new owner here from Australia doing the research. After a lot of investigation the Triumph looks like the boat for me, but like any other spend, i look in to the "pros & cons". You guys have given me some great insight in to what to ask/negotiate/demand with the dealer when i have the test next week. Looking at a 190Bay----can you summarise for me what i should be getting the dealer to fix before leaving the yard????? Thanks.

bullets,

I would make sure all the doors close flush when you pruchase it. That's one thing my dealer is going to have to fix next time I take it in. They become "toe stubbers" on my 215cc when they don't close completely.

Thanks,
Bill

I have noticed that my baitwell and fish hole hatches all fit great in the shade or on an overcast day, but in direct sunlight, they expand and are tricky to fit. I am not a person who wants to spend a second trying to get the baitwell cover to go back in the sun so I took the sander and eased the edge all the way around, less than 5 minutes in time and it fits perfect.
It should be right leaving the factory, but the world is not perfectly round and so are we.

I for one went over my boat carefuly before I took it home, the few minor issues were quickly taken care of by the dealer/factory.

I like my little puddle jumper, I've traveled 530 miles in it this season and had a ball fishing out of it. Is it perfect? Not really, none of the 7 other boats I've owned were either for that matter.

Maitenance and upkeep sure is easy though and although I do try to take care of my stuff I bump the dock or hit stuff in the water now and then and it's sure nice not to have to worry about spiders in the glass or waxing hulls. Yeah they are a little rough around the edges but I bought mine to fish out of and use hard, had I wanted a show room boat with lots of fanct polished stainless and teak to keep up with I'd have spent about 3 times as much money and would be spending 4 times as much time cleaning and polishing my toy.

Like I said, I like my boat and I realized up front it wasn't a Parker or a Trophy.

What I find particuarly disingenious is to see people posting on this board on other boards under other names bad mouthing the boats as well as the people here who support the boats and this board in an extremely civil fashion.

They're claiming thier posts are either deleted or censored for content which is a flat out lie.

I guess my suggested solution to the people who are so darn unhappy with the boat they currently have is please sell it and get one that will make you feel like your dreams have come true and give the rest of us a well deserved break.

If you want to read about boat problems other than Triumph just go to any board that supports boaters and or fishermen and do a search on "Boat problems", you'll get hits for every brand of boat out there.

Ok I'm done.

Well I am still in negotiations with the other half on the purchase of one and if anyone dislikes their boats that much they could save themselves alot of heartache and send it on down here.
