Pros and Cons of Triumph Ownership

I've only had my boat for a few months, but with washing it, and all, I keep finding things that could have been finished better, is this just my boat, or are they all like this? Nothing major, just little things. Has anyone else noticed these things?

I feel there is NO perfect boat, car, trailer, etc.....Remember we humans have our good days and bad...there will always be something not just right about our toys....thing is you can choose to live with it or choose to let it bug you to the end.

Most people will not place the word "refined" and Tough" together. More often, people would place tough together with rugged, bulky, and harsh. Given that we have the "toughest boat in the world" and the way that they look, I personally think it is a beautiful boat, bearing in mind Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.

So I say the next time you see something on your boat that looks as if it could have been polished a little more, I ask you at the same time to look at the spot where you most recently "kiss" a dock, trailer or whatever. Somehow I think you will be smiling in the end.

I understand what CRIMAR30 means. I've had mine too only a short time and notice things that could be better. Most notably are the way the hinged covers fit on the back seats and the fish boxes up front. I have one rear seat hatch that can't even sit flush because it hits on one side. The gaps on all are terrible. I'm grateful to finally have a boat but are we nitpicking or what. Would you put up with it it your new car doors didn't shut?

I would if I could take out a telephone pole with it and not have so much as a scratch!

Checkout the forum on how have you tuff tested your boat.

Piledriver,
I'm like you. I've owned lots of boats and when I bumped something with my fiberglass boat, I was always able to find the scar when I was cleaning the boat to remind me what happened. Now I'm always amazed when I'm cleaning the boat;I look for the scar where I hit this or that and it's never there!!!! Like Stephan said..... It is what it is and nothing more or less. My 170CC is one tough boat! I've really enjoyed it.

I'm not debating on how TOUGH these boats are. That's a given. Just wishing the guy at the factory could have actually lined up the hatch covers to make sure they would close before he drove the hinge screws home.

Triumphant,
So Far I've found my new 195DC's fit and finish very good. It is what is expected after paying $30k+ for a new boat. Before I took delivery from the dealer, I found that the factory installed port and stbd rod holders were set too high, preventing them from being deployed (swung out) with the aft jump seats down. The dealer had no problem repositioning them, did a darn good job too. Getting the little things right, like aligning the hatches correctly before screwing them in, doesn't take a lot of effort and sometimes can make the difference between a good boat and a great boat. If I were Triumph Inc, I would want to hear about these things. It's a very easy thing to correct. Hate to say this, but I looked my boat over extremely well before I hooked her up and drove off down the road, fortunately for the local dealer, she appeared to built with pride and a good measure of quality control.
