fishfinder

I too am installing a new humminbird Matrix 12 on my soon to be picked up 05 170CC. Reading the other thread why should the transducer be on the starboard side. Also I want to mount the screen on the top left of the console, will this effect the compas I,m putting in the middle. My 98 Logic had the finder over the cup holder which was lower then the top of the console but don't want to do the same on the new boat.
Thanks for help.

I think it has something to do with the fact that the prop spins clock wise ( when viewed for behind the boat). Apparently the signal can reflect off the prop and cause interference.
