The fuel tank is under the splashwell and under the floorboards. It is an "L" shape with the part you see under the splashwell forming one part and a lower part that goes forward under the floorboard. There was a picture of one in one of the threads here but I can't seem to locate it. As for fuel guages...they're very unreliable. Mine usually shows full only when I fill it completely full. After that, it shows about 1/2 most of the time. When it shows 1/4, I head for the gas station. Keep in mind what you are looking at is the top 1/2 of your fuel tank. If it's 1/2 full, then you have 3/4 of a tank left. I hope this helps.

Hi bobw, not to be nosey, but what would someone expect to pay for a 2002 170cc? I am currently looking at one myself, can't seem to decide on used or just biting the bullet and going for new, thanks.

Fishfinder88,
Short answer: $8995. The rest of the story: It all started when my wife said "Honey, I think you need to buy a boat." I immediately concluded that she had become the perfect wife. Not one to disrespect my wife's opinions, I started a search for the perferct 17 foot Center Console under $10 thousand - our arbitrary budget. I settled on Triumph & narrowed the search. Found the 170CC via www.boattrader.com & drove about 300 miles for a test run, closed the deal & picked it up two weeks later. I paid 8995.00 at a used boat brokerage which included a new trolling motor. That's close to NADA pricing, perhaps a bit higher. The cushions were non-existant but the boat motor & trailer are in good shape & cleaned up very well. (I was just asked if it was a new boat.) I think well equipped new ones around 17K. We're happy buying it used. The hull is pretty much indestructible & cleans easily. I'd suggest being picky about the engine. Good luck in your search. Going off-line for about ten days for extensive boating & fishing pleasure. Perhaps a fishing report will follow. BobW |

I have a 170 DC and wonder what's under the floor... in almost 1 year of ownership I have yet to spend more than 10 gallons to top it off (even though the needle sometimes shows barely 1/4 tank), and I want to be sure there is room for the supposedly other 10 gallons under those floorboards.
