170 DC + Yamaha 60 HP performance data posted...

On the Yamaha website. Pick the motor, select the boat, and they show actual performance figures for many boats, including mine.

Only problem was their link for this combination opened up data for another setup. I figured out their numbering scheme, and plugged in the appropriate http, and ended up with this unpublished link: http://www.yamaha-motor.com/assets/p...3-46-TPH-C.pdf

Useful data. With 2 people, the best cruising speed, based on MPG, is about 27 MPH (4500 RPMs, 7.2 MPG).

170 Dc

Thanks for the information, I looked there, but, as you said, it opened up a completely different bunch of specs.

The RPM/MPH figures seem to be fairly close. Took our boat out today for the first time, and spent the first couple of hours breaking in the motor, then opened it up a bit. At 4500 RPMs, it was 27 MPH per my GPS, and at WOT (for a few seconds) it hit 35 MPH. The RPMs were still climbing, but we throttled back. Pretty quick for this sized boat. This motor is so quiet!
