170CC Winterizing - FYI

Things I found out - 2007 170CC

Rod holders in gunwale dont drain to bilge like ones in front of console, they hold water. Splash of freezeban or pump dry.

Inner hull water, pour some freeze ban thru the front bow access plate, without the innner hull drain closed, it will eventually come out thru the hull drain.

Rear Storage compartments at transom don't drain completely (cross drain is higher than bottom), freeze ban is needed here. Freezeban in tansom bilge doesn't hurt.

Freeze ban in the deck hole access unde console (where engine wires come out) doen't hurt.

Livewell lines need anti-freeze (open the seacock to purge any air). Pump freezeban thru the spray head until it drips out thru the pickup, that way pump/seacock is winterized.

Freezeban at Wal-Mart (camper section)is the cheapest around, it blues but watertank safe down to -50. Not for engines however.

125 posts all about buying a Triumph and then a comment like that? Any boat needs to be "winterized" up north, its part of maintaining a boat. Triumph/Logic boats have a unique set of problems but they also have a unique set of benefits to go along with them. I'm not a die hard Logic guy, but it seems odd that you would come on the Triumph owners website just to make a comment about how great it is not to have a boat like ours.

P.S. Let me know how you feel after you wax your new boat a couple times, or better yet, when you get that gouge in the gelcoat from something on the road. Just busting on you pal, don't get mad. Like I said, every boat has it's pros and cons.

My patience with folks who register as members for FREE, who aren't Triumph owners and proceed to post negative comments about the boats. As noted before I will ban members that are not contributing in a positive way to the information on this site. If they don't like it they can go elsewhere.

I thought he was just "busting our chops", just poking fun. Everyone knows that Triumphs are a lot less maintenance than anything else on the market...especially fiberglass. I guess I missed it!

I should be smart enough to not jump into this, but I've never been accused of being too smart. I took Feejer's comment as a joke. From what I've seen and remember he's always been pretty nice in the past. If it wasn't meant as joke then I guess he has too much time on his hands. Either way I enjoy my boat. Well, I enjoy it when it's not covered in snow.

Triumph boats are a blast to work on you can customize it the way you want without the fiberglass mess.
