Love my boat BUT

I have had a few issues with finish.

Firstly. Nearly everything screwed into the hull keeps coming loose. Drives me crazy. Is there any type of lock tite product or something that can stop this?

Secondly I keep having the rivetts that are on the connectors for the poles on the bimini cover sheer numerous times. Nearly broke my daughter nose last time out. At my upholsterers now geting stainless screws fitted.

The boat is unbreakable, fantastic, but the fittings are crap.

Any one else had this type of problems?

Cheers Paul

G'Day :)

Try a dab of Rule Elastomeric sealant, it's similar to 5200 silicone sealer but it will actually stick to the ropalene plastic the boat is made from. It's real sticky and does a great job on anything. I've gotten into the habbit of putting a bit of it on every screw on the boat.

Purchasing Rule Elastomeric

I have purchased Rule Elastomeric at WestMarine. Just be careful to get the correct color. I believe that the color of the cap on the tube indicates the color of the product. Also, this may be one of those items that has limited way that it can be shipped due to its possible classification as a hazardous chemical. You might want to check this out before you pay for overnight shipping.

No problem with fittings...

As alternative, Gorilla Glue above the waterline. After "excess" dries, flick off with your fingernail. Foams up like polyethene foam in a can.

Eric G,
Rule Elastomeric adhesive is the only sealant that will stick to this roplene hull. It is great and I would not count on anything else having the same staying power as rule. It may look like its sticking, but later on it may let go. Rule will will last forever on these hulls.

Funny thing Paul, My alloy rivets sheered as well. Think for the extra 5 cents that they would put stainless rivets in the first time. Just happened to me last week.

Bimini Rivits

I've never even used the top on my 2007 170DC yet, but on my previous boat, (a larger, more expensive fiberglass boat) I had the rivets fall apart several times on the Bimini itself, and the mountings. Must just be one of those things the manufacturers can save a few cents on.
Are there many Triumph's , and, or dealers in the land down under?

There are only 6 dealers in Australia Mark, and the number of boats would be less than 30 at a guess.

Biggest hurdle is the price ... they are very expensive compared to what you guys pay in the US. Even with the shipping cost included and allowing for the exchange rate, someone is ripping us Aussies off. The end result is low sales volume.
You have to think outside the alloy-glass square to justify the extra expense.

Don't anyone say price fixing though ... that could never happen

Perhaps Triumph should supply a tube of Rule Elastomeric adhesive with every hull sold.

P.S. My 195DC is leaving the factory next week after being ordered in November, should be here in April
