170 Dc Trolling Motor Install

Has any one done their own installation of a trolling motor on a DC, and if so, which brand, model, did you choose?

As you saw on my post http://www.triumphowners.net/forums/...1266#post21266 I fitted a MotorGuide 75lb 24 Volt. The main reason I changed from Minn-Kota was the new 2007 Wireless is light & compact, and has the sacrificial anode under the prop. Minn-Kota have the anode under the nut, so when it corrodes it puts the main shaft out of balance. Like eating part of your wheel lead balance weights away, Bad vibrations. Also MotorGuide has standard a quick release bracket so you can remove the trolling motor and fitt a plastic cover to make it look nice and not catch your butt when you get in the front LOL. I had Triumph fit the trolling panel up front when I ordered the boat and they wired it to the console for me with a 50AMP circuit breaker. I now have the advantage of trimming the E-Tech up and down from the casting deck. Because I do allot of tournament fishing, I selected a 75lb thrust to power through in big current and I also use the boat in Electric only Bass fishing Comps. (Small dam competitions for Bass)
