Polish yes or no

I fish out of my boat 99% of the time I use it. It gets its fair share of blood and guts.
I was wondoring if anyone uses any wax or polish around the boat to healp minimise cleaning time. Dont tell me to wax the floor too!

Cheers Paul

I never use wax or polish. To clean up the boat I use Simply Green. I spray it on then run over it with a soft scrub brush and then spray it down good with my pressure washer. Cleans up really nice every time. There are a number of threads on the site about cleaning the boats and folks use different cleaners (use the search tool for "clean" but wax is never needed. Roplene does not shine like fiberglass does but if you want to shine it up some you can occasionally use some Amorall and wipe it down. But don't use it on the deck! You can also use an electric buffer to run over the hull but be careful not to buff it too hard or too long as it will heat up the surface and 'burn' it, which will discolor the surface. Hope this helps.

Liquid Tide..smells good!

I fish for trophy catfish quite a bit. Their slime gets all over the boat and is very hard to get off, esp. after it has baked on after a sunny day. Throw in some dried chicken livers and blood bait and you've got a really smelly mess at the end of the day. I take a regular garden hose, some liquid tide and a long handled soft brush and go over the entire boat. Everything comes off easliy and the boat has a very pleasant smell when done. Clean up is usually 15 minutes. At the end of the fishing season, I take a pressure washer to the whole thing to remove any "little black dots" and I'm good to go!

This boat is made to get dirty. Never polish or wax it! Use it and with minimal clean up it will look good as new every outing.

OK, I'll admit, I did used "Wet Lightning" or was it white lightning? For making black wall tires "shine". It works great on the hull and all you got to do is spray and wipe off xs. As soon as you use the boat, BAM!! it's gone! Back to plastic. Guess Armor All would do similar. The buffer lightly used would last a while but, man, that's work and takes time.....which could be spent on the water.....which is why many by Triumph

I like SoftCrubs with bleach but rinse immediately to protect metal. Makes a white, stainfree and disinfected boat.

your right fridaysoff if you have to use wax to maintain it than i am not going to buy it. to much like work. a bad day fishing is better than a good day waxing.
