170 CC Mods

I finally installed the 4 tray tackle locker I got from Cabelas. Posted pictures on the 170 Mods site, although they seem to be in reverse order. This will be a huge help while fishing. As any 170 CC owner knows there is not an abundance of storage on these boats. I got tired of tripping over tackle boxes or having them sliding around while under way. This should take care of that. A lot of tackle can be stored in a Plano 3700 box and this has 4. This was possible on my '04 because the access to the console was changed from earlier s to the bow side. Used 1.25" 10/24 bolts, 1" fender washers and nuts with nylon inserts (all SS). Did have to use a screw on the bottom center because I could not get my arm in deep enough.

Thumbs up

Great pictures. I'm a new owner of an 05 17' cc. Picking her up next week. I've always had an emergency paddle on board my other boats. I was concerned with were I would keep it on this boat. Your modification looks like it will work great for me. I also like the storage box addition. I may be installing on in the near future myself.
