My brother is buying a new boat and asked if I could give him any advice to help him make a decision. I told him what an experienced boater told me once that really helped."Take as many people with me when I went to test drive it as I would have with me on a normal day on the water". Take one more with me to add up for the extras (coolers, drinks ,ice,etc.).Usually the salesman will make up that weight. Take off with WOT to see if it will plane as you expect; move weight around to see how it rides off balance, etc. The sea trial is the most important part of whether you have that "loving feeling" for your boat when you get on it each time or when you write that check each month. I had a 170CC before I bought my 195CC. I really enjoyed the 170. I still think it is the best hull Triumph makes. It just won't carry the load that the bigger boats will.Good luck and I hope you enjoy your 170DC.
