I pulled the pump and shook the devil out of it....not sure if anything was stuck in the float chamber as I couldn't see into it with my arm in the hatch. In any event, the float sounded free and with the next few storms it seems to be working. I still am a bit concerned that it will fail again when I am not watching. I guess that I'll wait til winter and after I install a larger access point in my motor well I'll look into replacing with an electronic sensor/pump versus the float type.
I am guessing that the pump problem stems from plastic shavings left from the manufacturing process! |
