Loose deck planks

Hey every one,

Just got this site from bloddydecks.com link on a triumph thread and have a ?

I have a 1998 17' cc and the deck plates are screwed to the stringer and constantly come looseand some of the holes are stripped out.

Any help on a way to repair these problems ?

From what I've read so far this site is going to be a great help to me and I may be able to make some suggestions too

Thanks and good fishing;

Steve on the boat:

if your dealer is close get him to get you some ropolene powder or ask customer service to send you some. just heat the screw and dip it in the powder and screw it back in the hole and that will tighten up the screw hole.

and if that does not work, see if your dealer will do it under warranty...even though it is not the hull per say...you never know unless you ask.
I on the other hand just dipped my screws into a tube of rule and screwed back down...holds good.

Buy a plastic welder from HarborFreight.com (cheap) and if you have an air compressor, use the supplied color welding sticks to fill up the holes. Then go with a bit larger and longer screw and put them in with rule elastomeric. I would think about adding a few more evenly spaced between the exising ones and seal the whole running board down with sealant too if possible before putting in the screws.
