Hatch cover over battery well
Just bought a 170 cc (new, but 2004) the day before hurricane Charley.
Luckly for me he missed the Tampa Bay. Just noticed the battery hatch cover did not seat into the recess for the lid. Of course the dealer should have known as well as the company, quality control. It was conviently covered with a cushion. Left Triumph know, but no response. With molded hinge recesses, may be difficult to fix properly. Another issue, the storms soaked the console cushion (I had removed the others). I took the cushion and 2 hinges off and drove out the hinge pins, replacing it with a stainless pin, now I can simply remove the pins and take the console cushion inside. |

I saw the same thing in a 170CC on a local dealer's showroom. The same boat had big gaps (maybe 1/2 to 3/4-inch) in the rear compartment on the port side. I'm wondering if the plastic can settle down and move around a bit after it leaves the factory. Looked like both issues would be tough to repair.

RE: hatch lids
Was at the local dealer's yesterday, checking out a 170 Bass. The port rear storage lid was off just enough that it didn't fit into the recess for it. He said it was an easy fix, by just resetting the screws. Very nice boat. Everything else on it looked beautiful.
There's a 170 Fish to see tomorrow, at a dealer up north, just for comparison. Ru |
