Stereo Installation

I have a 170 DC and would like to add a CD player. I'd like to put the speakers in between the front seats and the bow platform mounted in the side of the boat. I know on the right side there is a conduit that runs from the batterey compartment up to the bow to run wires. Not sure about the left side. I'm sure if I mount the speakes correctly I could tap into that conduit to run the speaker wires. Has anyone mounted or cut into the foam and the side of the boat? If there is no conduit run can you "poke" something through that foam to run wires?
Worst case I guess I can always mount the speakers on the rear bulkhead aboe the fuel tank.
I'd appreciate and ideas or suggestions.
