Installing Electronics

Any special fasteners needed for installation of electronics for my new 170cc? I am putting in a flush mount radio, 8ft antenna, GPS/Fish Finder. I am used to fiberglass boats, so this is a new situation for me

Also putting smart tabs on the boat, so any hints on fasteners there would be appreciated. I plan on using self-tapping screws and Rule to seal everything.

You're on track

Tygh,
Just remember to not overtighten the screws or they will strip out. Just get them snug, use lots of rule and you will be fine. Enjoy your new boat.

Hello again TYGH, Here is what I did for mounting my flush mount stereo, your radio should have come with a water proof hinged cover that supports all the radio gear and provides the seal, i thru bolted all the holes in the cover with
8/32 x 1" flat head s/s machine screws with #8 s/s washers and the nuts are
nylocks which will never back off while pounding the blue waters, mounted speakers in the same manner, a little more expense, but they won't come out or rattle loose or strip, IMHO
