My steering tubes were seized when I uncovered the boat last spring. This winter I'm going to make certain that the tubes are extra clean. I'm also going to put a liberal amount of thin oil on them prior to storage. Turned out that the marine grease I used last year had hardened over the winter and glued the inner tubes to the outer ones.

Yep, that happened to me last year too, steering tubes are both stailess and aluminum and that results in corrosion of the aluminum. It isn't easy getting grease down in there either. Considered putting a grease fitting on the aluminum housing.
