Question trolling motor bracket logic 186

Can anyone tell me what to expect to pay for a trolling motor mounting bracket?
Also, are there other options i.e. bulding your own bracket?

Thanks

Mine cost $125 from the factory. My dealer split it with me, as it was the first one he has done and could not foresee the delay in delivery.

If you can work metal, you could make your own.

My dealer used a heavy duty MinnKota removable bracket. Not sure how he anchored it to the bow but it is a 36v 101lbs thrust and have had no problems since 2002. Guess they used either 4x Togglers or T-bolts.

bracket

I would like to use Minn Kota removable bracket so that I can cover boat with cover I now have on it.

Can you post a picture of your MK HD bracket on your boat so that I can see
it's position on bow.

Thanks,
mbone20

The factory mount is well worth the cost. Its heavy duty 1/4 alu. and SS bolts included.
Ive installed the factory bow mount, a 24v riptide, removable mount, and remote control unit.
It's a great setup for SoCal kelp bass fishing.
I had posted pics on the old site, which detailed the parts and install, but that was old ago.
Let me know if ya need more info. or pic.

When I got my 186, the dealer (long gone now) did not know what to do about installing the trolling motor (65 lb thrust - riptide) and the factory was no help at the time.

I procured some alum angle - 2 x 2 x 1/4 x 24" long- to go under the bow, and a piece of 1/2 x 8 alum flat x 36" to mount on top of the plastic - this allowed the trolling motor to get to the water - (I work in the steel service center business and had access to what I needed). SS bolts. Removable Minkota bracket, which was installed wrong by the dealer. Kinda of over kill, but i wanted to make certain it stayed put. Been on since '01.

From what I understand, the factory mount is the way to go since it is designed our boats.

my 01 logic had one of the first factory brackets. it had the quick release m/k bracket attached to it and did a great job.
