Need to check inside Console

I noticed that the "floor" inside the center console that sits on top of the fuel tank was sagging a bit. There is a round hole about 4" diameter that you can see the top of the fuel tank and run your hand under there as well.

If you do be careful, the points of the screws stick out that hold the grey finishing plates (notice the one with a "C" on it)which sit on that floor above the tank. Also, I would slide some marine lumber (or cheap kitchen cutting board pieces) or some type of supportive material in there as I noticed that "holes" were being worn into the top of the fuel tank. None seem to go thru the tank completely but over time could definitely be of concern.

Did you remove the grey piece in the middle area (above the hole shown) for the picture?
Mine has grey "floor" all the way across.

This a 2002 and that's the way it came new from the dealer, just as in the picture. Sounds like this may have been an issue already modified by Triumph, that would a GOOD thing.
