Boat project photos

OK, I uploaded some photos of some of the projects/mods I've done on my boat. The 'platform' can be added when I want the "Cabin Cruiser" mode. They are in the Photos section.
More photos to come. Enjoy!

John, your pictures are GREAT.

They should help give others ideas of what they might do with their boats. If I had a boat cover, your “Aerodynamic cover project” would be at the top of my list. I have seen way to many boats going down the road with that parachute effect. I can just see the wind taking the boat cover to the windshield of the car that is behind them. Ouch!!!

Where is that toolbox picture? That was another good idea you had.

Vic, I took some pix and uploaded them a few minutes ago. I also included the docking lights, upgraded compass and trailer mod.
Dick at Merritt said I was given the wrong trailer for my boat by Travis Boating Center. I always thought something was wacky.

Thanks John.

I do like that radio in a tool box. Now that took some thinking.

Sorry you have the wrong trailer. I bet your next Triumph will be just right.

Astro, I just wonder what you could do with a boat load of "marine" lumber and duct tape! Bay 190 cuddy cabin with twin towers and bow pulpit? Why haven't you made a diving platform off the back that could double as a tent support? Way to go and keep them ideas coming.

Astro, I was wondering what kind of trailer Travis provided you? I also purchased my boat from Travis and I don't feel very comfortable with my trailer. What was wrong with yours that made you question it.

in '01 i bought a 186 logic which is today's 190. back then the factory didint match up trailers with boats, but rather left it up to the dealers. my dealer put mine on a loadrite brand which i think maybe a regional brand . anyhoo the boat was sitting almost 1 ft off the rear bunks . long story short, i had to replace the outter bunks and modify the inner so the hull would be sitting properly on the trailer. for those new owners of older rigs ,remember the hulls must be totally supported on the bunks out past the transom .

Bought mine from River Craft Mar ine with Factory supplied trailer. The midle bunks were right but the outboard ones were about 3 " to short. Had to move the winch post foward and then move the axle to get the toung waight right. Did it myself as the dealer wanted to argue about it. I'd learned my leson about the bunks wit my 17cc Logic. (Dealer was Boat outlet of Destin) Don't ever do bussiness with them. Thier Mechanic "Gabe" was a real jerk know it all and didn't think any one knew more about boats than him. Trailer riged wrong, Smart Tabs installed wrong and tried to charge me for warrenty work on the electrical system. Any way the boats are great. Need the right dealer though. The guy who bought my Logic is as hAPPY AS A CLAM.

You said "What was wrong with yours that made you question it."
As I told Dick at Merritt Marine, my boat was hanging off the rear bunks about 2 1/2 feet! So, I moved the winch support forward. This made the tounge weight too much, I felt. So, I got the rectangular spacer you can see in the photo and put it between the winch and the trailer support. The hard part was finding two "U" bolts the proper lenght to re-attach to winch.
That trailer is 600# all by it's self. It's long too. It is nice that it has brakes. I noticed that some of the trailers under some of 190's didn't have brakes, that I could see, at Merritt.
I also had to fix the wiring, replaced the tail lights [corroded out] and added extra clearence lights. [more corroded lights] I went with sealed LED units. I also replaced the cable with a nylon winch strap. I was afraid that cable would snap one day from the way it looked.
Dick told me it was a wrong trailer for my boat.
If I buy another Triumph, I'll be visiting NC to do it. [No dealers in GA]

My Two Cents
There are no Triumph dealers in Alabama either. My 04 19 Bay original owner bought the boat from Doc's Marine in Pensacola and their dealership has been pulled, not sure why. I got warranty work done by Roughwater Marine in Gauiter Ms and was VERY pleased with their attitude and service. Not sure how they faired the hurricane. I have talked with but not been to the dealer in Panama City so need some more feedback on them.

You guys needing boat trailer parts check out Champion Trailers in Slidell, La.
They have a nice black & white catalog in addition to the web site. Lots of galvanized and stainless items.
