I am to take my 2002 Bay 190 to RoughWater Marine in Gautier, MS soon to have warranty repair of the 2nd crack on the "other" side of the hull concavity. The standard treatment now is to repair and beef up the foam and hull on both concavities if one side developes a crack. Then to add the bow support which might help. The areas have always sounded hollow to me, like Dick said, possible a mould issue.

2002 Bay Deflections

Same for my Bay the Bunks look like those in the pictures. My deflections leave space between the hull and the outer bunk rails. The V pad area only causes my Keel to rub. I would be interested in the trailer spec sheet if it is still available. I have no hull warrantee as the owner died and it was transfer by the wife for sales purposes and now I get the shaft. So increasing the trailer support structures are even a thought. I live in Phoenix Arizona and needless to say the defects do not correct themselves with high heat only the Rule sealant gets sticky down here.

They are a mould issue and only cosmetic unless, of course, a crack develops. The fix is standard but internal reinforcement is mandatory for the plastic repair to hold. Work on that warranty transfer for piece of mind.

Lifetime Transfer

I tried on the transfer but the factory said that three is void. With all the concerns as to deflections I would be willing to go $500 for a full transfer as a third party owner and like most would never need a repair but the piece of mind would make me feel so much better.

Guess you just save your money and pay for the fix if it is ever needed. They still might work with you, contact the factory first if any hull work is needed and discuss with them.

Deflections???

I dont believe that the added bunks are going to do a thing. The boat that I have seems to have very little foam inside the hull. The display thats at the boat shop shows the hull to be full.If the foam is not in the hull to help with the impact of the water and support the hull ,its just a piece of plastic waiting to break.I think that the boat does have handling problem becouse of the deflections. When you cross a wave or a wake it seems like the breaks are put on. It seem to me that people are patching the thing with a band-aid and not addressing the real problem of a DEFECT not Deflection.
