Grounding Radio, VHF, etc??

Can anyone tell me where the main ground is located on an 01 186. If not how do you handle the ground wires from any accessories you install??

Thanks,
Mark

The fuse block inside the center console is what you attach the positive and negative wires to. The "red" + wire goes to a empty SIDE terminal that you can place the appropriate rated car fuse.
The negative goes to any of the numerous empty terminals ABOVE that are not ajacent to any fuse.

Eventually, you may feel the need to upgrad to a covered version with more available terminals for @$35.

Question No fuse block in boat

Molar Boater,

I do not have this fuse block in my boat. The only thing I have is the factory panel with the switch fuses.

Sorry, I did not know that. Still, your answer lies inside the center console, that's where the power is run from the batteries. You may want to have someone install a fuse block for you. Then after that, it's as easy as plugging in the pos and neg wires.
Down the road, you may want to add GPS/fishfinder, radio, etc and this would make it very simple to do it yourself.

I also have the 2001 186 with no fuse block. I just added one inside the console. I ran a big fat wires from the batteries up to the console. Everything I added is hooked up to this fuse box. Looks like the one MolarBoater has pictured.
Most of the factory wiring in there was a jumble anyway.
