3X13X21R prop on a 115 yam 4 stroke?

OK. after getting information on Nocture's thread I checked my prop. I guess the prop would read...3 blades..X....13"...X....21degress....Right hand. Is that correct? It is aluminum also. I have seen 17 and 19 used on bulletins and such. Do I have too much pitch? Also there is no 1/2" cupped area to the blade as described. The best mph I can get is about 34 @ 5500 rpms trimmed. If I try to trim it more to run the rpms up to 5900, I start to loose speed. I am now thinking about 13X17 ss with the cupped blades.

see if your dealer will lend you a 19 pich first to try. 21 to 17 pretty good jump. less pich will increase, top rpm. prob better top end. 17 may overrev engine.

I agree, you can figure on about 200 rpm per 1" pitch change so if your turning
5500 rpms now you will be turning about 6300 with a 17 pitch. I would start with
a 19 and go from there your dealer should have one you can try before buying
one getting the right prop can be a little frustrating not to mention really expensive
if you buy all the ones you try. (Ballistic props are great props)

Well, I talked to my dealer. They fixed the few warrenty problems on the boat. The bilge, horn, and trailer lights quit working. They said that they can not replace the prop under warrenty because Triumph said that it was opperating within the zone for that motor. Even though they aggreed that a different prop will give me more mph and stay in the safe zone. I will have to wait until next month to get a different prop. Don't have the money this trip.

Prop selection is an exact sience most often applied with insuficient or inacurate data.
MPH is not always the aproperate goal. things to consider are 1: what are you going to do most with your boat? ski? fish/ bay or open water? 2: MPH or MPG? 3: Configuration of the boat? ie got trim tabs? load? (I rig with 8 dive tanks and 4 divers).

I fish mostly on the Intercoastal waterway. I do plan on pulling a tube or something from time to time. Mostly me, wife, and one kid (for now) and fishing tackle in the boat. I want to be able to run to the fishing spots fast and get back fast. I may try some tournaments this year.
