I usually hose it down and flush the motor after every trip. Then about every other or every third trip I'll use regular dish soap with a touch of bleach in it. Works pretty well, but that was one of the selling points to me was the easy maintenence.

Davey,
Really the only thing you need to clean your boat is some kind of soap (I use liquide Tide...works great, is biodegradible, and smells great when done) and water. If you get some stains or those infamous little black dots you can use a pressure washer (car wash works great) and out they come. The main reason people wax fiberglass boats is to put a protective layer over the glass to prevent oxidation (that white powder that comes off on your hands). Since Roplene does not oxidize, there is no need to wax your boat. Mostly just hose it off and go drink your favorite beverage.

When I picked up my 195 that had been sitting outside for a couple of weeks uncovered I stipulated that when I picked it up it needed to be in showroom condition. My previous 170 was filthy when I picked it up last year. Interestingly enough when I picked up the 195 last month it was prestine. When I inquired what they used they told me they were using whitewall tire cleaner and that it was reccomended by the factory. It definatley worked well.

Boat Cleaner/Cleaner Boat - Whatever!

I have always used Greased Lightning. SoftScrub for the tough spots. This was told to me by Carl Merritt and Dick at Merritt Marine to be the best cleaner. I have tried Simply Green and some of the others and I have always went back to the "Lightning". Of course once a year the pressure washer to take off the little black dots. Just my 2 cents

I was told by my dealer not to use any chemicals. I use Dawn dish washing liquid most of the time. About every third washing I use the pressure washer to rinse with. Presure washing removes the little black dots and other stuck on stains. It seems to work fine for me.
