Stainless steel drain plugs
I have the plastic plugs in my 190 and no matter what I do I still get water. I would like to replace them with the new stainless steel parts.
Does anyone know what they cost as well mas where I can get them? I tried to get information from Triump, however they were less than helpful. |

I just got mine in yesterday from Merritt Marine. They came in quickly and were about $18 or $19 a piece, which is better than my local dealer. There's a link to them on the home page, so you can either call or fill out their parts request form and they will contact you. They're going to be a nice upgrade, and I think my bilge pump is going to work a little less now.

These are the drain plugs I want to replace. You are right, when the boat is on the trailer they can be hard to reach. I made a tool that solves the problem.
I cut a slot in one end of a 1 inch diameter aluminum rod. The slot fits over the flat protrusion on the plugs. In the other end of the rod, I drilled a 9/32 diameter hole. To tighten, or loosen the plug I place one end on the plug and insert a screwdriver thru the hole on the other end. Push the rod against the plug and turn the screwdriver. Works like a charm. The plugs are simpler to get in and out, but they still leak. I'm going to contact Dick and get the stainless steel replacement units. |
