Question 190 gas vent hole on console side

The 190 bay gas tank vent hole located next to the gas cap looks like it can funnel rain water or bow spray right into the tank. Is mine missing something?
With all the talk of ethanol fuel i installed a yamaha fuel filter/water seperator but still don't want water to run down into the gas.

Would like to hear if anyone else was thinking the same.

Its a new 2006 190 bay with a 115 yamaha. has 2 hours on her!!!!!!

Thanks

Good news, that vent hole drains overboard. Don't be too hesitant to test all the thru hulls, I spray water in mine on occasion to make sure wasps haven't clogged up any as well as test thru hulls to hold water in the boat. I think there is an antisiphon valve in there as well.
I have a 2002 Bay 190 and there's never been a problem with water in the fuel from the fuel overflow drain.

Bay gas vent

Thank you for bringing that up as I have wondered in the past the same thing would the H2O make it to the tank. Now we know.

Thanks for the info! I have not tried flowing water down the hole yet but can't see where it would go. I see thru hull holes for the bow fish boxes (new, they don't go into the bilge like in the past) also see the live well water inlet located aft . Would it drain to the bilge? thats my guess.
