I am an owner of a 210, so I can not offer much. However on the 210 it also has a tube for running wires. My tube was empty of all wires, I use a 20 gauge line wire. It is pretty stiff. The only snag I had was where it came up into the center counsil. It had a kink in the tube. I had to pull the tube out to clear the kink. Then all was fine. DOES your 190 have a floor hatch that you can remove?? if so, you can pull up and fish a wire around the tube to the disired location.

Most I've seen (including mine) is run with the outboard rigging and then over the transom and down externally. Haven't seen a thru-hull install.

You can do yourself a favor by purchasing a real fish tape. These are available at Lowe’s and Home Depot for not much $$$. I modified mine a little by cutting off the clip end and bending over a smaller end. Use electrical tape over the end to make sure it doesn’t catch on anything if you have to pull it back for any reason. When you get it through and are ready to pull your cable, pull an extra string for installation of other wires later. Bow wiring is another story but it can be done. Use the conduit for the bow light wires. The smaller end on the fish tape is the key to getting it around the bait well. The wiring ends up in the access hole for the bait well and then it is easy to get to the console from there.
Luck and beers,
JR

Depth Finder Installed

First I'd like to thank you all for your hints on this hook up. I didn't have the heart to cut the end off my fish tape, so I ran it with the live well hose. More room, less electrical wires to tie into.
So I went along the hose route, past the batery, the last 18'' with the steering and down the transom. I did take your hint and ran an extra string for future use. Thanks again!! Rick

nylon string

I used nylon string, maybe 1/32", I picked up years ago and sometimes use to crab off of my dock. I tied one end to the negative battery cable in the stern and the other, I tied to the batiwell intake pipe. If I ever need to run a wire or hose, it's there.

it was hard . there was no string. used fist tape for transducer and temp/speed sensor.
i just ran a string and it went alright. then , sh__ went awry.....

noticing that the battery wires run straight up the middle, i figured i'd run the power wire for the unit the same way.....tried and tried and tried to push fish tape up the middle thru the round access hole in front of motor at tramsom. well, it wouldnt go thru, then it got stuck trying to pull it out. my arm got tore up reaching thru that access hole, finally took off cover....well, couldnt dislodge the fish tape, so cut it off. and ran my power wires thru the side tunell where i had run my transducer and temp line......finally got er done and gps works exellnt...// hope that broken fish tape doesnt cause any problems later....thanks for the reply.......this boat is awesome, went to bodega bay the next day and had a blast catching salmon, lings and rockys......a pod of bottle nose thought we were theyre mom. the boat performed unnnnnnnnnnnbelievable......love it......kg

Used a small "Fish tape" from Lowes. Just slid right down tube from transome battery compartment up into console. You might also try lubing the fish, they got that too at Lowes.
