GPS Installation
I have a new 190 Bay. I started to install a GPS but the pvc pipe where the steering cables and electrical wires are ran seems not to be very accessible at both ends. Does anyone have any advice in running the GPS cables thru this PVC pipe or should I just have a dealer install it?
Thanks for the help, Allan Holman |

On my 2002 190 I ran a electrican fish tape thur the pipe at the console. Taped the connector and cable to it, pulled back easy. you may have to work it back and forth a little, before it comes out. Good Luck

Skeeter,
Thanks for the reply. My problem is that the pipe is under the shelving in the console and after taking out the screws of the shelves I can't move them enough to get to the pipe. Any suggestions? Thanks - Allan |

I just fished the cables on my new 190 Bay this weekend. Is the factory installed string there? It was fairly easy to run the cables with it. You need to carefully tape it up to make it as snag-proof as possible. Takes a little back and forth, as Skeeter mentioned. Also, attach a spare string to it so you can pull back the original string. Some people have lubed it up with dish soap, but mine didn't need it.

My 2002 does not have shelves in the console. I just open the hatch (above the bait tank), the area is just open space. The plastic pipe is there on the left. Have you tried pushing a fish tape from the other end of the pipe?If that would work you could pull back a string . Good Luck
